REI, Seattle, WA (Flagship Store)

Cross Engineers (Gene Wentworth) received the Puget Sound Chapter IESNA 1997 Illumination Design Award and the International IESNA Award of Merit for “The Pinnacle” lighting design.

This 270,000 sq. ft. building includes two retail levels, 3000 feet of exposed ladder tray with category 5 data cabling, a 65 foot climbing rock, three levels underground parking, a 250 seat presentation room, bicycle/ski/kayak repair shops, café/deli, and the Art Wolfe Photo-Art Gallery.  Cross Engineers provided lighting, power, telecommunications, and fire alarm design.

This project received the Architecture + Energy Award for Architectural Concepts and Materials.
